Close Quarters Armed Defense 12-7-14

This class is for the person interested in using a firearm to protect themselves from attack.  Some prefer a pistol, and some a carbine.  Some have both in their toolbox.  This class will focus on arm’s length to 25 yards, using the firearm(s) you have on hand.
This day of training requires shooters to move through snow, fighting the cold.  It will not be easy, but it will be very rewarding and you will greatly improve your skills, whether you are an intermediate or advanced level shooter.
PREREQUISITE: You must have a solid foundation of shooting knowledge and skill.  A (non-Utah) CCW class, an NRA class or similar training or experience is required.  You must know how to grab your weapon from its sling or holster and present it, how to do magazine changes, clearing stoppages, etc.  If you are not certain that your skills are up to speed, we strongly suggest taking the morning section to prepare yourself!  If you are a beginner, we suggest taking our CCW class the day before as well!

Refresh your skills relating to drawing your pistol from the holster and properly presenting, slinging your AR, clearing stoppages, mounting carbine etc… and basic shooting refresher.  If you regularly compete in IDPA or similar, you likely don’t need this portion, but might enjoy the warm-up before the afternoon class.  We expect everyone at the afternoon workshop to have a solid grasp on the basics of defensive shooting.
